Community Guidelines

Keep the guild welcoming.

RenMap groups help friends and festival communities coordinate when cell service is crowded. Everyone using messages, display names, group names, or location sharing must follow these rules.

Effective July 27, 2026 Published by SpocksClub
RenMap and Meshtastic are not emergency services. Do not rely on the app for urgent, medical, safety, or rescue communications.

Be respectful

Do not harass, threaten, stalk, shame, impersonate, or target another person. Hate speech, sexual exploitation, unwanted sexual content, bullying, and encouragement of self-harm are prohibited. Do not use RenMap to organize or celebrate violence.

Share only appropriate content

Do not post illegal content, graphic violence, pornography, sexual content involving minors, scams, malicious links, spam, or instructions intended to cause harm. Do not use another person’s private information, name, image, creative work, or location without appropriate permission.

Protect location and radio privacy

Join only groups you trust. Invite links and QR codes can provide access to a group, so share them carefully. Do not track, publish, or forward another person’s location without their consent. Radio messages may travel through nearby participant devices, and delivery is not guaranteed.

Filtering, reports, and blocks

RenMap applies a basic objectionable-language filter before a message can be sent and hides matching incoming text. Automated filters are imperfect and do not replace good judgment.

  • Use Report on a message to prepare a report to the RenMap safety contact.
  • Use Block on a message or person to hide that radio node’s content on your device.
  • For an immediate physical threat, contact onsite security or local emergency services.

Enforcement

SpocksClub may investigate reports, preserve relevant records, restrict service-side access, remove synced content when technically practical, or cooperate with event staff or lawful authorities. Severe or repeated violations may result in loss of RenMap service access. Because Meshtastic is a decentralized radio network, blocking or service-side action may not prevent every over-the-air transmission; local blocking remains available in the app.

Report a concern

Email [email protected] with the group, sender or node number, approximate time, and a description of the issue. We review credible safety reports as promptly as practical.
